Many people were involved in this project, economically really poor, but very reach of collaborative people.
First the idea was supported by the association where I was working at that time (Laboratorio del Cittadino) and by the association CESVOL (giving services to local associations).
In these two cases the support was unfortunatelly "just" economic and technical.
The italian branch of International Civil Service (SCI Italia) and especially Maya, provided all the support for organizing the workcamp.
The municipality of Castiglione del Lago partially funded the project giving the availability of the school building (beds, kitchen, toilets and showers) for living during the workcamp and providing some money for buying food.
The association "centro sociale anziani" of Castiglione del Lago supported us providing electricity and working place.
Several local people (unknown to me, but very kind) gave their old bikes to the projects to make it possible, a few other helped finding abandoned bikes.
The association "Ciclofficina Centrale" from Rome, came for a weekend to Castiglione del Lago with some 15 people for sharing their experience with the workcamp group and for teaching us how to fix bikes, big thanx to them!
The journalist Serena Zullo spread the project idea all around Italy, doing a great job.
Finally the real workers, the international volunteers, the main core of the project, the people sharing 15 days of their life for something that probably did not understand ... at the beginning :-)
Here they are, in alphabetical order:
Alessandro (Andreol) from Italy, Jadranka (Ilic) from Serbia, Katija (Stucin) from Slovenia, Luca (Vaianella) from Italy, Magda (Bohatyrewicz) from Poland, Marianthi (Vezertzi) from Greece and Urska (Zibert) from Slovenia. Really a great group, if the project was realized is mainly their .... fault :-)
